Sustaining the Harvest Virtual Class

$10.00

Description

Join me LIVE FROM MY GARDEN to learn ways to gain more control over the food you grow from seed to fork!

This virtual class will run live on Saturday, July 10th 2021, from 10:00a-11:30p

**If you are having trouble registering, please email me at [email protected]**

Do you jump into the gardening season with two feet, only to find yourself wobbling to keep up midsummer?  You are not alone!  So many of us catapult ourselves into the early summer months and then end up overwhelmed with or lacking in the abundance of our gardens soon after.  I have been there and done that.
Let me be a resource on tips and tricks to prevent your garden from turning into a weed patch or wildlife buffet. A little sharing is okay of course!  Harvesting doesn’t have to be overly time-consuming or cumbersome.  And don’t feel limited by person-power, I do much of the harvesting in our garden by myself.  Connect through this virtual program and leave with a new outlook and toolkit of skills to reduce food waste and increase your harvesting window by weeks and even months!

This is an opportunity for new and experienced gardeners to learn techniques to prolong and maximize the harvest while ensuring a more attainable and steady supply of fresh produce throughout the growing season.  We will talk about time management strategies, planning, utilizing your existing resources and deciding who you are going to share all your extra produce with!  There will be LIVE demonstrations followed by some time for questions.

Sharing is caring!  Don’t forget to bring a favorite technique of yours to share with the group.

Everyone loves a takeaway…

  • A list of resources and reminders to keep your harvesting goals on target!
  • A new perspective on how much you can accomplish with a reimagined plan and a fresh purpose
  • A session where you can bring as many questions as your little heart desires about maximizing your harvest!

About the Instructor:

Julia Steiner is an educator and life-long learner who takes her teaching beyond the walls of the classroom.  A self-taught gardener who relishes in sustainable lifestyle choices, Julia finds joy in sharing ways others can benefit from a similar economical mindset.  Her background in agriculture and environmental science planted the seed in making the connection between digging in the soil and the health benefits that growing your own food provides, while her elementary and special education hats feed various perspectives on how to reach a variety of students.  Julia loves trying new seed varieties and experimenting in the kitchen to ensure a constant supply of homegrown goodies.  Last year she had tomatoes until Thanksgiving!  Julia believes strongly that passionate gardeners should never feel limited by a level of expertise and the ability to grow food.
